A non-load-bearing wall letter requires a relatively simple assessment. A mezzanine floor with significant live loads requires detailed structural calculations, section drawings, and connection design — significantly more engineering work.
Projects with complete, accurate as-built drawings and clear proposed plans are quicker to assess. Where drawings are missing or unreliable, additional site verification or drawing preparation is required.
Some projects require submissions to multiple agencies — for example, a change-of-use project may require both BCA structural approval and SCDF fire safety review. Each additional authority typically adds to the scope.
Standard turnaround is 3–10 working days depending on scope. Priority processing for urgent projects (under 3 working days) may attract a premium. Plan ahead where possible to avoid urgency surcharges.

For RFIs (requests for information) that fall within the original scope of work, QP.sg handles responses at no additional charge. If the authority's queries require additional engineering work beyond the original scope — for example, due to new design requirements or a significant change in project scope — these are quoted separately.
