Why temporary works need an engineer

Temporary works carry real loads — workers, materials, soil and wind — often while the permanent structure is incomplete. Singapore's building control and workplace safety regulations require certain temporary works, such as temporary earth retaining structures, larger scaffolds, falsework and shoring, to be designed and endorsed by a Professional Engineer, inspected before use and maintained in a safe condition. The exact requirement depends on the type and size of the structure, so check with us early in planning.
